Both John and Marti Gordon, founders of HeartCare International, were widowed in their early forties. God, in a gracious and sovereign way, brought their lives together in 1990 with a shared passion for leadership development and ministry to the emotional and relational needs of people. Life is about relationships! Fulfilling relationships are foundational to life! Yet, relationships are more disconnected and fractured than ever before. Loneliness is at a record high.

Heart disease is the number one health concern today. Attention is given to diet, exercise and lifestyle in order to remain physically healthy and live longer. What about the heart of our emotions? What about the care of our souls? In the same way our physical heart manages everything physiologically, so our soul governs our thoughts, will, emotions, choices, words and deeds. "Above all else, guard your heart, keeping it with all diligence, more than any treasure; for it is the source of all life and influences everything in your life," wrote Solomon of old (Proverbs 4.23)

HeartCare International is a ministry committed to facilitating spiritual, emotional and relational wholeness through a process by which individuals and couples, families and leaders can become heart-healthy. Yes, there are countless resources available that tell us how to do life; however, it is our contention it takes people to walk along side of people over time for one to discover how to be in life - in relationships; to experience transformational healing and growth.

HeartCare for Singles

• Retreats - John and/or Marti facilitate retreats or are available as speakers. Their own experience of widowhood and years of ministry to young adults and seminarians equip them to speak to the emotional and relational challenges of single adulthood.
• Heart Care Equipping Experience - A preparation as mentors that entails thirty hours of classroom instruction, weekly home application, a meaningful retreat, counseling and/or mentoring of each attendee on an "as needed" basis. The journey is highly relational and interactive. Every phase is processed by the student. Their preparation is not a course, not a class - an experience!
